Erik Abend, Principal
Erik is a lifelong educator who is passionate about helping people to learn and understand new subjects and skills. He began his professional career first teaching middle/high school mathematics and test-taking (SAT, GRE, LSAT) skills and then leading business software training programs, writing instructional manuals, and creating early on-line help content.
In 1999, he began working at ISO New England, providing market and technical training and help-desk services for participants during implementation of the initial "Interim Market" design and several early wholesale market enhancements. Since 2004, he has provided individualized and subscription-based reporting and consulting services to a wide variety of ISONE/NYISO/PJM market participants.
Erik earned a BS in Managerial Economics from the University of California at Davis and an MS in Training and Development from Lesley College.
Erik lives in western Massachusetts with his wife and two sons, two dogs, one cat, and approximately 10 chickens. He enjoys soccer, tennis, cycling, cross-country skiing, hiking, learning new skills (surfing, among others) and explaining things to people.
